Mafia 11: Back to the Beginning

The mafia have finally done it.

They had failed five times, but they finally killed every last inhabitant on the island. None remained, and the island would remain that way.

But you forget one thing... that island wasn't the first.

The third island was finally devoid of human life, but there were two other islands. The second was wiped clean before the rebellion really got anywhere, but the first island is still inhabited by its citizens.

It's funny: the other islands had been razed, but the original - the birthplace of the mafia, and the site of the First Mafia War - it still stands. And the island has survived for a long time - too long for the mafia's taste.

But soon... that will all change. The mafia have dispatched their two best agents to exterminate the remaining people and end what they have started once and for all.

But the citizens aren't completely helpless. Quite the opposite, actually: they have been preparing for the mafia's return, and the battle-hardened citizens are armed - with guns, with lock picks, with medkits, but above all, with their voice, their vote, and their will.

Both sides are prepared, and both are determined to win. But who will?

It's up to you.

I'm prepared.  With everything to ensure that the mafia isn't going to win for the third time in a row.

(I'm counting the Serial Killer as a mafia, since it's basically a lone mafia member.)

OK.

To all citizens:

If you have a power role and you're about to get lynched, don't just say that you are citizen.  Say something and back it up with some information about your role.  Even if it means cetain death the next night.  It is better to lynch a citizen than it is to lynch a power role.  We've been lynching off people with power roles for the last few games because the person did not say anything.

Seriously.  Citizens can't afford to lose yet another game.

I agree. This happened in my last game when I was town, our doctor was about to get lynched, he was reluctant to claim and got lynched.

have we heard from killer-2 yet?

Okay then, I'll start the game. I'm sending out the roles now.

Okay, roles have been sent out. Below is the citizens' role message.

It is now Night 0. I will now accept any non-killing actions. Note that the granny's reflexive kill is still in effect. The night ends Monday, April the 29th.

I'm an ordinary citizen.  Nothing more, nothing less.

I am assuming that if a citizen roleblocker blocks a mafia roleblocker, both roleblockers are roleblocked.  But if a jailer blocks a roleblocker (no matter its alignment), the jailer blocks the roleblocker.  Correct?

Also, what happens in the event of a roleblocker vs. spy?   Or a roleblocker vs. roleblocker?  (I'm assuming it's a tie, just making sure.)

If two roleblockers target each other, then both are blocked, but if a jailer and a roleblocker target each other, the jailer's takes preference.

A spy is a mafia-aligned role cop - cops, role cops, and other investigative roles all perform their night action after everything else.

The order night actions are resolved for this game is as follows:

  1. Jailer
  2. Roleblocker (Either Alignment)
  3. Doctor
  4. Mafia, Vigilante
  5. Cop, Role Cop, Spy

The granny's kill takes place at the same time as the action targeting the granny.

Questions:

  • So, does the jailer/roleblocker get killed if they target the granny?
  • The rules say that if a jailer gets killed, the jailer's target will remain in captivity for the remainder of the night.  Does this apply to other roles, too?

So if pompom is telling the truth, we already know who has the non-power roles:)

If a roleblocker targets the granny, then the granny is blocked, and the roleblocker does not die. Likewise with the jailer.

Yes. If a doctor targets a player, but then dies that same night, the doctor's target is still protected from kills for the rest of the night. Likewise with the roleblocker.

I found a flaw with this rule.

If a roleblocker kills the granny, but the doctor heals the roleblocker, does the roleblocker die?  According to the rules, he would die before the doctor saves the roleblocker.

Also, this same situation could happen, except the doctor heals the granny.  The granny would still be killed before getting healed.

Good point. Then I guess the granny's reflexive kill happens at the same time as all the other kills.

Exception: If the cop/spy checks the granny, the granny would kill the cop/spy at the same time as the investigation. (assumably)

...Would the cop/spy still get their information if they get killed on the same night?

(I know they're not allowed to share the information, just wondering if they get the info)

And here is the difference between someone who really pokes around for flaws vs me.

No, kills happen before investigations. Besides, it would pointless to do it the other way around: the investigator wouldn't be able to share the results anyways, because he would be dead.

Just for clarification. Innocent
