OK... when does the game start?

EDIT: oh, stuff is due tomorrow.

The inhabitants of the original island were busy checking the island's fortifications. They knew the mafia would return - it was only a matter of time. But when they came, the islanders would be prepared. Every one of them had become a power role. There was no way the mafia could even get in, much less wipe out the inhabitants.
But they did.
One of the islanders had found two bodies, both mutilated far beyond the point of recognition. Two dead bodies, two mafia.
Then another islander in the distance shouted, and the islanders all ran to him. There, the islanders saw all their houses burnt to the ground. Some of the islanders had left their tools in the houses.
The islanders were not off to a good start.
And so discussion started. The islanders would try to figure out who the mafia are, vote for whoever they think is mafia, and, at the end of the day, kill the person with the most votes.

Let the day begin!

As of now, there is little to no evidence for anything, unless the cop have something to report.

Best thing to do is to talk until someone acts suspicious.

So... who do you guys suspect?

Avatar of piphilologist

I don't have any suspects yet, because of no evidence.

I'm thinking about who would have used their power last night. The Mafia Spy and Roleblocker would. The Town Cop/RoleCop would.

(unless any of the above didn't want to risk being killed by a possible granny)

But I don't see why the town Doctor/Jailer/Roleblocker would have used their power. Doctor makes no sense as noone could be killed anyway. Jailer/Roleblocker could use their power, but that power would be more likely to target town than mafia.

Avatar of pompom

The only reason a doctor would heal is to protect someone from a potential granny kill.  Not very likely that the doctor will make a heal that is beneficial to the town, though.  Plus, there's an additional risk of getting killed by the granny by doing so.

This last night was beneficial to only the cop, spy, and mafia roleblocker.

EDIT: Actually, a jailer could also benefit from the last night for similar reasons as the doctor.  Oh, and since it also acts like a roleblocker, there is no risk from the granny.

Avatar of piphilologist

ok there's no risk from the granny to the jailer/roleblocker.

the doctor shouldn't heal anyone, as there are two mafia he could heal (spy or roleblocker), but only one town (cop/rolecop)

the Jailer/roleblocker could block the cop/rolecop from town, or the Spy or Roleblocker from Mafia. seems it's worthwhile for the jailer/roleblocker to submit an action.

By the way, is there any difference between Roleblocker and Jailer?

Avatar of pompom

The difference between a roleblocker and jailer is that a jailer also prevents others from visiting the target at night (e.g. If a jailer jails a person, a cop could not investigate that person) in addition to the roleblocker capabilities.

Anyways, probably the more important thing to do right now is to figure out who is mafia.  At this point, everyone is equally likely to be mafia.

The only people who did not post at all in this thread are pattrik and The_Chess_King.  Doesn't really mean a lot, though.

Yes. we need to wait for more people to post.

Avatar of pompom

Yeah.  pattrik and TCK did not post in this thread, although as I learned from the last few games, you can't always rely on inactivity.

For people who want an explanation:  The only reason why inactive people might have a greater chance of being mafia is because the mafia might be trying to hide.  After all, the more one posts in the forum, the more chances for one to say something suspicious.

Avatar of Kacparov

I'm citizen, and it's all that I know so far.

Avatar of Kacparov

And what I have learned from the last game is - don't trust pompom's percentages.

Avatar of piphilologist

So if you and pompom are telling the truth, you are the only two citizens. If someone else is a citizen, please tell us! we will then know that one of the "citizen"s was lying.

Oh, I'm here.

No, the percentages are totally legit.  It is true that everyone has a 33% chance of being mafia at this point - except for me, of course.

One thing to remember: never trust anyone.  Except for yourself.  And MAYBE trust Shivichess.

Citizens, Power Roles, and Mafias can all say "I am citizen."  You can't really rely on claims.

But why would a power role want to say they were citizen?

So that the Mafia doesn't kill them on the next turn.

Avatar of pompom

Yeah, it's pretty common for a power role to claim to be citizen.

I'm voting pattrik. (not my actual vote)

I'm just doing this to (hopefully) get pattrik's attention.

that's a good point. I have seen that once before. Thoguh on the other site I have played on claiming citizen when actually a power role is regarded as a bad.
