Basically there are three alignments in this game: The Town, The Coven, and neutrals.
The goal of the Town is to eliminate all the Coven and potentially the neutrals to win. (Some neutrals can win with Town)
The Coven is outnumbered but has a group chat and knows all their members so they can coordinate. They try to kill the town while pretending to be townies
The neutrals have their own win conditions, some win with evils, some win with Town, and some can only win when they eliminate everyone else

I assign roles to each player in private chats. You can find the powers for each role in the Role List. Claiming is a complicated process. If you are a townie, it's usually a good play to claim the role you received - but if you are an evil you obviously shouldn't claim that role because then you'll get voted out.... so you should claim a town role instead
