Each month we will showcase one of Magnus Carlsen's many great games.

For August 2022 we look back at the World Rapid Championship final in 2019

Magnus already had a full point lead over the field going into this game but played the game with confidence and became World Rapid Champion.

Both players played to a high standard but made small inaccuracies at towards the end of the game. The evaluation of the final position is +0.5, likely leading to a draw if the game had been played out all of the way.

After winning the tournament he said with a smile "I think it's possible to give your all in all of the games, but it also helps that I'm better than all of the others!"

Magnus was joined on the podium by runner up Hikaru Nakamura, and former World Champion Vladimir Kramnik in 3rd place.

For September 2022, we take a look at another blast from the past: the World Blitz Championship 2012

Carlsen has the black pieces and manages to swindle Sergey Karjakin in the endgame.

For October 2022 I hand you over to Levy Rozman who presents a great game played in January 2015. Is this his best ever game?
