because it is always implied that only one side moves

oh well, congrats @sovetox, nice job with the... taco...

at least i found all of the mates (i obviously saw that nf2 was a thing but obviously that's not how these puzzles work)

Yes it is always just assumed, but that might not always be the case

it is always implied unless otherwise specified

since you didn't say "mates for both sides", it was just mates for one side

I said Mate in 1, I never said Mate in one for white, and seeing as it is mate in one, Nf2 would still have to count. Did I in any way specify or imply whichside is to move?

Avatar of Sovitox

Yes!!! I got it!

no, but unless it is specified that moves for both sides count, it is always just one side to play.

so yes actually, by not specifying that it was both sides moving, you specified a side.

Let's say you are right, and I was only wanting one side. What if it is black? How do you know that?

Avatar of Sovitox

He never specified, so he didnt say it was white

we were shown white, not black

Avatar of KingOfK2Lounge

You are shown with white at the bottom, but what does that prove? Nothing. Some even play their games with the setting set so that white always on the bottom

Avatar of Sovitox

I’m just happy i got a taco

Avatar of KingOfK2Lounge

not one, check your award, I do;t even know how much I sent

it is generally implied that type of position would be white to move.

it is ALWAYS implied that it is ONE SIDE TO MOVE SAID OTHERWISE

you said nothing except find the mates, so i found the only relevant three

i'm fine that they "won", but it would just be nice for the puzzles to be made correctly, where we were told what we needed to know

Avatar of Sovitox

Wow, ill be set for life! Lol

by chess players in general

lol clubs are better if the people who make puzzles make them correctly

idc if you won your taco, good for you, it'd just be nice if the puzzles (if people were given anything, even just chess.com trophies) were made correctly
