King mate is the same thing as discovered mate, only that you move the king. No questions asked that king mate is rarer than discovered mate.

no, many people try to do king mate on purpose, whereas you can't control en passant mate

King mate can be set up if you have a monstrous advantage. En Passant mate can't.
