This is just a post compiling common mating patterns.

I will give an instructive example to illustrate this point, given in the book Mastering Chess. It's white to move, can you find the winning move?


This is much easier to find if we recall this common mating pattern:

Thanks for the positive feedback, it's much appreciated. Unfortunately I've been really ill so I haven't been able to post any more stuff, but I'll try to rectify this in the near future.
