Mentor program. Creating repertoire.

This topic is specially for my students and it's dedicated to creating opening repertoire.

1. All openings are divided into three groups: opened, semi-opened and closed. Opened are openings which start with 1.e4 e5. Semi-opened are those which start with 1.e4 and then every move except 1...e5 like: 1...c5, 1...d5, 1...c6. Closed openings start with every move except 1.e4.

2. If opponent plays a move you don`t you should always use chess base: http://chessok.com/?page_id=352. Feel free to ask me also.

2. To be my student you must have same repertoire that I have. So first of all you should always play 1.e4. Then if he answers 1...e5 2. Nf3 and if his second answer is 2...Nc6 you will be able to play your first repertoire opening:

Ruy Lopez or Spanish Game. There are many articles dedicated to it so I`ll just show you main line:

3. You should also know how to play against 1.d4 and 1.e4 as black. Against 1.e4 you should play 1...c6 with going into Caro-Kann, another well-known opening. Main variations are: closed (1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 Bf5), Panov's attack (1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3. exd5 cxd5 4.c4) and classic (1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.Nc3 dxe4 4.Nxe4 Cf5). It's very safe and solid opening where black can easily make draw.

Against 1.d4 you should play 1...d5 2.c4 c6 going into Slav. It's very popular opening where black gets serious counter-play. Main variations you should know are: Meran (1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4. Nc3 e6 5.e3 Nbd7 6.Cd3), Anti-Meran (6.Qc2), and Botvinnik's variation (5.Bg5).

I will add more information later. Feel free to ask me by pm.
