Move 16 - Unofficial Voting

I apologize for accelerating this so much this time, but if we don't vote very soon, there really will be no point since Bxd5 is going to win in the actual game.

It is currently 15:24 GMT.  I would propose that we finalize our voting by 18:00 GMT or else we will have no impact whatsoever on this move.

Also, whatever move we decide, ALL of us must give vocal support (or if you just can't do that because you don't like the decision, then silence) to that move in the main game forum.

Bxd5

I stick with 16. ... Qd8, as the analysis suggests we have less problems with this move than after 16. ... Bxd5.

Ixodidae

I like Alenka's analysis and vote for 16. ... Qd8.

Toi

I like Qd8, exchanging doesn't give us any clear advantage and we have more options to follow

Elroch

Well, unless I am missing something, I declare the alliance move to be 16. ... Qd8 by 5 to 1. This really is an abysmal turnout! Well done to everyone who voted.

Qd8

I don't see Qd8 as leading to a much better position than Bxd5 and it seems like the Bxd5 line has been explored deeper and more throughly from the diagrams I've seen, so my vote is Bxd5

I initially was a fan of ...Qd8 but more and more of the lines we have analyzed look increasingly cramped and bad for black, since we keep improving on white play, but not our own it seems.  Also with D3VIL's suggested d5!? line (with the knight/bishop for pawn/rook variation), I think we have at least equality.  Many people took a quick look at it and thought "they have 2 bishops we have none; must be terrible", but our pieces are looking very active, especially with the queen on c2 and the fact that Pogonina hasn't had a chance to even move her queenside bishop or rook.  Now with our pieces in her way, it will be very hard for her to move.  She is the one cramped and uncoordinated, and this is undoubtedly fair compensation for her "unstoppable" bishop pair.

Why has voting been closed after less than 3 hours??

Noodlehead - The only reason we closed voting so fast was because of the current rate of in-game voting (over 500 votes, thus 50% of the total).  If we did not come to a conclusion, then our votes would have been completely irrelevant.

16...bxd5  will be followed by an immediate 17...f5

If we can't attack queenside then we must attack kingside.

The center has been locked.

BillyIdle We wouldn't be able to play 17. ... f5 because white's queen will be on d5, pinning our f-pawn.

Qd8 it is.

where is the posting of the final line???

It is essential to post it in the main game team comments!

67 votes are not enough!

Ahh... I this what I get for sleeping late. I think we are missing the opinion of many of our stronger players, Valentin, 66_Mustang, Baltic Knight, Estragon, etc...

I would have voted Bxd5 due to the flexibility of the lines (more space means more possibilities as savyma stated) as our different analyses have shown.

I am glad there is overwhelming support for Qd8, though I hope members took a look at analyses and did not base it only on aesthetic looks.

I will vote Qd8 as the majority wanted, but I do not like how things went this move (which sucks because we did so much ahead of time).
