We moved 18... Bd5.

Below is the diagram I made early yesterday with Bd5 work. I know more work was done by others, so please repost and update as needed. If we can get a list of single responses each of his possible moves we can avoid the Nbd5 worry from yesterday, tomorrow.

heres VegetableMan's Ne5 diagram - i had to edit it by hand to take out unnecessary lines from previous moves, so let me know if you see a mistake

What about Qa8 after Ne5?

It seems to me the possibilities are many and the ways to get into trouble are too. But, I see ways for Black to win. This part of the game may be more difficult for us since our group is diverse, but it may also be difficult for Onischuk as he might not be as focused on the task as we are.

The only down-side to ...Qb7 is we have to get rid of Bc4 pretty quick to avoid problems with Ba6. That shouldn't be a big deal since we're already angling to get rid of Bc4 and some rooks, so we can play the Q+minor pieces position where White's Bb2 is bad.

Also, after Ne5 Qb7 we can drop back with ...Nc6 if we need to get rid of Ne5 or just for safety. ...a5 isn't as necessary.

Likely moves:

19. a5

19...bxa5 20. Rxa5 Bxc4 21. Rxc4 Nd3 (an idea someone mentioned in the discussion days ago) and if Qe4 can't become active because of the back rank, then Black should be able to take over.

19. Ba3 (quite forcing)

19...Nb4-c6-a5, but it gives up a6,

19...Bxc4 20. Rxc4 helps White take the c-file

19...a5 maybe

19. Ne5 (positional) Qb7 (positional)

19. Bxd5 Nfxd5 supporting Nb4 and keeping all our pieces as active as possible. Without his LSB e3-e4 makes a lot less sense and an immediate e3-e4 gives us ...Rc2 or maybe ...Nd5-f4-d3.
