My Composition #2

This is one I've just completed & I hope you have as much fun solving it as I had creating it!

I've checked it with Problemiste & there's only one solution in 6 moves.

White to move & mate in 6 moves...

Lol, not very difficult, but pretty amusing :)

I've wanted to create one of those 'toggle-check' type puzzles for a while but never got around to it. If you've seen that kind of puzzle before then you'll see how it works fairly quickly but otherwise, it can take some time.

If I can hold someone up for even 10 minutes I'm happy  :-)

Nice, it reminds me of a puzzle I composed with a similar theme, mate in 13:

That's a good one shoopi  :-)

This type of puzzle lends itself to some really long-sequence mates which few engines can cope with - I seem to remember tackling one once, that was about 25 moves long! I kept mine to just 6 moves because that's the maximum number Problemiste can handle.

Yes, I suggest you download a strong engine such as Houdini as well. Problemiste's biggest advantage is that it can solve different type of puzzles such as helpmates and so on. Houdini usually has no problem aiding you in much longer checkmates and tactics, especially in rather simplified positions such as this.

Why is everyone in this club like puzzle masters?! My puzzles almost never get as nice as those puzzles showed in this thread.

Here are two of my best compositions (in the form of studies). Happy solving!
