My Invented Chess Variant! (Football Chess)

I invented my own chess variant called Football Chess, as it's the most popular sport and with the rise of chess, they are a great combo.
Rules: There is a football in the centre and you can try to get it if you want. To get it, step on the square with any piece and you'll get the ball. No-one can steal the ball unless the piece that has it gets captured. When a piece is captured, the piece that captured it gets the ball.
Now for the main mechanics, passing and shooting! If one of your pieces has the ball, only after it has moved, it can pass the ball to another piece without moving and only though its movement range (Pawns' capture paths count too) which can pass to another piece. This can happens as many times as possible, which allows some strategic plans. You can also shoot the ball, which captures the enemy piece it collided with and leaves the ball there. You can only do this as your last pass. However, the ball can jump over pieces, depending on how many times you passed it! Note that you can only shoot if you pass. To win, you have to checkmate the king or kick it with the ball!

Here's an example on how that can be used! Pretend the rook on b1 has the ball!

Now, checks can be quite dangerous! Pretend the white king has the ball!
Obviously, this is a prototype I came up with in my head and didn't think much in it so there's definitely room for improvement. Let me know what you think in the comments and if there's anything I could improve/add or if you have any questions. Also, if you want to play this for yourself, use messages since footballs don't exist in chess!

You do realize that white has forced checkmate after 1. e4, right?

Forgot about the piece movement part

I think it can be interesting but you should forget about the "jumping over pieces" part.
