My lower rated opponent is playing really accurately. How do I win?

Sometimes, like in the games shown, my lower rated opponents play really accurately. I don't know how to make them falter and win.

I am pianoboy on ICC and these games were classical tournament games

I think i just panicked in these games. Do you have any strategies to deal with a lower rated opponent playing accurately?

josephyossi

just resign

Sometimes lower rated players have a good day and catch you in a bad one. If you play positional grind openings like the QG exchange then you have to know the position much better than your opponent, or else he equalizes and is otherwise very solid. And when that happens, well, it’s really annoying.

Weird for 1600's

This happens a lot to me when I play 1300-1400's. I get a winning position but all of a sudden they play super accurately and I mess up because I am flustered

if you know ur opponent, I would look thru their games, to prepare against them.

You can't just claim them cheating.

I would recommend that, preparing your openings, doing tactics, study endgames, and solve mate in 1 - mate in 5 (it might sound silly, but it helps)

Ur playing 45 min with 10 sec increment, so when ur opponent stumps you, use your time and think of a good move

That’s like saying “don’t suck you lose that way”

I'm lower rated, but when I play someone even lower rated than I am and they're doing well, I just try to avoid errors myself, and watch my opponent's moves carefully, expecting him/her to make a mistake. Remember, we're lower rated for a reason. If our opening is sound and we're good at tactics, we must falter somewhere else.

Play e4! followed by ruz lopez, thats the best way to go happy.png

also why is your ICC rating 1800 when your daily rating is in 1600 which is highest, kinda strange like my blitz is 1860 and my USCF is 1730 ish
