My pitch for Ace Attorney 7

For the next Ace Attorney game, we need a subplot that would captivate players more then Dual Destinies, DGS, and Spirit of Justice. What better way to do that then to bring everyone together for one grand finale. I don't mean the end of Ace Attorney, I don't want it to ever end. But I do mean the end of Phoenix Wright. Let's face it, his entire existence in the franchise now is to get the games to sell, and doesn't offer anything new. So, here's my idea:

There is a criminal organisation who break convicted murderers out of prison, and recruit them as a part of their organisation. Detective Gumshoe has been working undercover with the organisation, hence why he hasn't been seen in a while. Eventually, the Wright Anything Agency get involved, and recruit Godot to help expose them (I know Godot's in jail, but that's what interests the organisation in the first place). While they get involved with the group, both Kristoph and Godot are killed on an assignment, and Phoenix Wright is the defendant. In one final trial for him before his retirement, he defends himself while Athena does investigations. Eventually, it's revealed that "Godot" was actually the phantom, and the real Godot was locked up by the organisation.

Interesting pitch (I know you messaged me about it before posting in this club too) that I like a few parts of. Such as bringing lots of characters back I like. The biggest issue I see here though is that I don't think you can kill off characters like Kristoph and Godot without backlash from fans as they were well-developed characters. (Maybe not as much remorse for Kristoph since his evil plot reveals what a villain he was, but at the very least: Godot was a prosecutor I think most people liked).

"The Phantom" concept is very similar to Blackquill (which I commented before elsewhere), but perhaps this isn't the worst thing in the world - it might still come as unexpected to a lot of the audience playing the game.

Again, Godot does not get killed off. The Phantom, disguised as Godot, gets killed off. Also, how is the phantom concept similar to Blackquill?

Also, maybe someone else could be the defendant instead of Phoenix, but it has to be someone important to the overall franchise, and not Maya, as she gets arrested way too much for it to mean anything

Oh, okay; I mis-interpreted that; yeah maybe that is a good plot.

Apollo Justice game Spoiler(s) below so read with discretion or skip this post happy.png

As far as "The Phantom", it is deeply connected to Blackquill. Remember the 5th case in the Apollo Justice Game (1st one)? "The Phantom" was the International Spy with many unknowns about them, but they were (among many other things) a master of disguise. Blackquill had a very strong ambition to catch them (Justice as well as personal reasons). As it turns out, Blackquill did eventually find out who The Phantom was...

(For more spoilers, then click this link and if not, then just play the game to find out xD)

There are good options. Apollo Justice is a good choice to come back. Prosecutor Edgeworth has been a Defense Attorney for Phoenix before. Maybe even just Athena Cykes alone since your Ace Attorney 7 pitch would take place years later; not to say Athena would change career paths from psychology, but she could take over the case for this instance like how Edgeworth did for Phoenix a long time back.

Actually, my pitch would take place in 2029, one year after Spirit of Justice. Also, the Phantom was Dual Destinies, not Apollo Justice. And Blackquill only knows he is the Phantom, and no one knows his identity. i don't think I would reveal that, but some people, like the criminal organisation, could see him unmasked completely, being the first time people actually know who he is, even if the player doesn't

Thanks, I sometimes get those two mixed up. I binge played Apollo Justice and Dual Destinies in the same week lol.

I actually have an idea for case 1:

The prosecutor assigned to this case gets killed calling the organisations leader (although no one knows that it's him) to his office to interrogate him. Athena faces off against an old Winston Payne for his final appearance, and defends him. The witness is a lousy security guard who sleeps on the job, but in reality, he is a cunning murderer, and the true culprit. The guard was blackmailed by the organisation, and took revenge in the process. His motive leads to a further investigation which gets the characters involved.

Also, I have actually began development on a text based version of this game in python

Neat. If this is Ace Attorney, then expect at least a few more twists though. Sprinkle a few red herrings in there and you've got a strong idea for a case wink.png

This is a really good foundation I could see you building off of happy.png

Thanks. As this is a tutorial, I don't want to make it too complex. But I think I know how to get a red herring in there
