System > Prefrences > Mouse > Enable mouse clicks with touchpad.  UNCHECK!

Haha! That is always one of the first things I turn off. I can't stand clicking with the touchpad. Who's bright idea was it???

silly gnome kids... this is why I dont use gnome or kde, stupid defaults
