I just achieved a USCF rating of 2200 on the dot, however on my USCF profile, it still says I am in the 1st category. Do I need to wait for my 2200 rating to get published(monthly published) in order to get the title on my profile?

Casablanca

yea

Martin_Stahl

I don't know for sure by my guess is you'll have to wait until the weekly re-rates to make sure the rating at that time doesn't fall below the 2200 threshold.

VivanJaiswal

I think you have to beat someone with the title to get one.

Thanks, and what about for chess.com? Would it be possible to apply right now or would I have to wait for the weekly re rate?

Chess_Star1234

*apply to get the title on chess.com

Nice job @Chess_Star1234!! You deserve it… I have 219 more points to get to NM… I hope i get it soon! As for your question, i think you need to get 5 NM norms (check “NORMS HISTORY”), and after that, when the rating is published, it will be official.

Chess_Star1234

Thanks, I hope you get Nm soon too! I thought the only requirement was 2200 USCF. Also I couldnt find the "NORMS HISTORY" section

SuperAwesomeSarthak

Go to the “MORE” page on your uscf page, scroll down and click “Norms History”, and then check how many norms do you have for NM or CM.

Chess_Star1234

I don't think NM is associated with Norms. I only have Norm levels 1-4 and level C (candidate master). I just checked an NM's profile, and they also dont have any NM norms

Chess_Star1234

I think the only criteria is 2200 USCF

catgrafter

yeah i'm pretty sure you just have to get 2200 USCF and you'll get the title, i don't think any norms are required for NM

SuperAwesomeSarthak

Oh yeah, sorry you’re right, I got confused with the CM title

modderman8

NM has no norm requirements. LM(life master, NOT original life master) and SM(senior master) have norm requirements. the only requirement for NM is a rating of 2200. I believe that what Martin Stahl said is correct, as a weekly re-rate could cause that rating to drop below 2200.
