IMO you're not really going to get an opening as aggressive as the Italian, as the Bishop is already pressuring the weak f7 square on move 3

Thunder7

but i almost always have to go through an endgame i am to lazy i guess i will just stick to  it then

thx for all the help i guess i will go learn the scotch then i mean that seems like the only quick knockout opening right now

Scotch is definitely not a quick knockout. Mieses variation is just a berlin-esque endgame + You're trading on move 3. It's arguably the most balanced of e4 openings

Thunder7

thx

I agree while the Giucco piano is a very positional opening you can get some pretty agressive attacks

DasBurner

As I stated earlier, there's a stark difference between the tactical and positional variations of the Italian

Here's a positional example with black playing in Philidor style

And here's a more open one

Thunder7

what would u classify this as

\

DasBurner

Open because like in the Open Italian, you're probably sacrificing the e pawn for initiative

Thunder7

ok thx i will learn open italian in depth

hmmm... I've been thinking about playing the Benoni and/or Slav. Any thoughts? (I basically exclusively play the Grunfeld rn lol)

If you're good in positional/closed position with limited pawn breaks. Grunfeld is very open in nature

okay, do you recommend using chess.com's master database to review openings?

you could but it doesn't really offer any insight as to what kind of games you'll get from the opening

vienna not that good tbh.... i would recommend the ruy lopez

Ruy Lopez imo is not a good opening for begginer-intermidiate players. It has a lot of theory and it’s very strategical.
