New Teams - League Introduction & Briefing Program

As you maybe noticed, team Brazil has recently registered a representative for its team.

Brazil would certainly be an excellent candidate team for an enlarged Season 2.

I think we could/should start thinking of some mini-tournament and/or friendly match program for prospective future participants.

ThomasJEvans

Maybe for the next season, we should say that teams should have played at least 3 live matches with the required number of players? That avoids any problems similar to Costa Rica where it took them 4 attempts to get the required players (although that would also have stopped Nicaragua from joining, and they have done very well for a team with absolutely no prior experience).

Maybe while the playoffs are going on, we could hold a mini 3 round swiss between any interested teams from Season 1 (by this I mean the 12 non-playoff teams), and the new teams so that they can organise games like they would in Season 2 (although there being slight differences as we are moving to a round-robin e.g. more flexibility in game scheduling).

JFSebastianKnight

Yes.

If some team wanted to volunteer, they could also start playing friendlies straight away.

I will see if Team Italia can do that btw.

Obviously new teams could play friendlies in any case and with any team of their choice.

However, I think it would be nice to have these friendly matches played officially, under the banners of LCWL so to say...

FedeBau

I need to double check, but Team Argentina is already playing internal friendlies once a week, so we could probably play them. Also, we are almost in the same time zone which helps coordinating.

And then you got the long time rivalry... happy.png

JFSebastianKnight

Great!

My only suggestion would be that when/if you eventually do play a match with Brazil, you could also announce this in the Friendlies thread (the one created by Dale) and tag the match as LCWL.

So we can keep track of what is going on, and provide examples for new teams entering the League in the future.

FedeBau

Sounds good. I’ll keep you guys posted.

If Italy wants to play maybe we can do a triangular.

JFSebastianKnight

Why not? A Triangular would be nice.

Team Italia may turn out being erm the sparring partner for the moment, but we (?) are working on that.

About time, we are trying to play with the team on Sunday afternoons by organizing regular Live Club Tournaments.

I think "Sunday afternoon" in Italy would mean Sunday morning in Argentina and Brazil... but we may also try Sunday evening in Italy and Sunday afternoon in Argentina/Brazil. I'm not sure which one would be better...

In any case, let's remain in contact.

FedeBau

Cool. I’ll reach out on PMs so that we leave this open for other teams in similar situations

phinneas

Hello everybody

An ITA-ARG-BRA Friendly Tourney certainly we will enjoy

FedeBau

What do think about Sunday?

Italy-Brazil could be at 3pm Brazil/6pm Italy

Italy-Argentina could be at 3pm Arg/7pm Italy

Argentina-Brazil we could do it after that at 4pm Arg/5pm Brazil

I'd say we keep LCWL standards with 4 minimum players and 5+2 games.

Let me know if yuo want to adjust the timings. For us to play in the morning will be a bit tough, and we should avoid lunch and dinner time as well.

Thanks!

phinneas

Fine.

I agree with all conditions.

Thanks!

Srbija Tim can join friendlies if we can gather another group.

JFSebastianKnight

for phinneas and Fede:

Yes, we could try for the time you propose for a triangular: 17:00 UTC (3 PM Brasil and 6 PM in Italy)

I'll try announcing this in team Italia's Notes and we can meet later on today for match creation? In 3 or 4 hours? 6 PM Brasil?

for zoran:

Good idea!

I think you may very well try arranging some match with Team Brazil as well.

So they may quickly play all the matches necessary for easily entering the League at the beginning of next season.

for phinneas:

I suggest:

1) you send a few friend requests to active admins in the League (this is to 'see' them in Live)

2) you can check out the League whatsapp group in case that is practical for you: https://www.chess.com/clubs/forum/view/whatsapp-group-for-creating-club-matches

FedeBau

Thank you guys. Playing with so many bugs is a good test

adriano81

Guys I think you missed the main idea of this topic... in case you arranging some mini tournament there is already exist appropriate thread, isn't it?

FedeBau

Sorry Adriano I think this was relevant to prove Team Brazil can gather the minimum players. It’s good to have the matches here for other admins to check.
