I can have a stab at it but in my own game client.
Guess - i will give you a ping when I test it out.
Probably vs AI first as back end isn't geared towards some of that.
New variant: Real War
A very interesting idea. Maybe an explosion (from Atomic) if at least 10 points of material are traded consecutively?
Maybe consecutive checks equal a win (from 3-check) as opposed to a draw.
Here's what should be the rules then-
The king can only move after all the pieces have moved
No castling allowed as in a real battle
No enpassant allowed as in a real battle
The minister(queen) should move only 1 square in any position just like the king
If all the pieces of a certain player die(except the king), the other player wins UNLESS the player with no pieces can capture the opponent's last piece(ofc not the king)
Stalemate is a win for the player who does it
The pawns cannot move 2 squares
The knight cannot jump over pieces and must have no piece in the direction it wants to move
Not making it exactly a chess960- the soldiers are in fixed positions but white first chooses the position of 1 piece, then black chooses, just like in setup but only on the 8th rank and minister should be side-by-side the king
Fog of War and Any Capture(except pawn ones) is also a great idea
Hi all! I already made a similar post several years ago, but I cannot find it anywhere so I create a new one.
I would like to propose a new chess variant that wants to simulate as much as possible a real battle, its name could be Real War, or something similar. I have the idea in mind to combine different chess variants, as well as adding small details here and there.
Up to now I managed to create my own variant version using rules of: fog of war, chess 960, any capture. Do you think it is possible to add the other nuances I mentioned above?
And also, what additional features would you suggest to make this variant even more real?
Let me know!
