I looked around and discovered that Georgia and Hawaii also have clubs around the same size as us.  Any interest in me challenging them?

You know I'm always up for it.

Cool, if we fair well against clubs our size I'll start moving us up the ladder against bigger clubs.  Lets see how we do.

I need a few more people to express an interest in this before I post the challenge.  Any interest?

hi guys, i would like to know more about syracuse chess club

Avatar of cusedude

Anupis, welcome to the club!  We have people here from all over upstate, though the ChessDonkey and I are in Syracuse.  As for playing chess in person in Syracuse, here are some ideas, I'll play you at Clark's after work sometime, people meet at the Carousel Mall on Monday evenings at the food court, there is a weekly game at one of the retirement homes in the city and there is a monthly rated tournament at the embassy suites in Carrier Circle.  I'm not sure if the group at May Memorial Church is still meeting.  I know there are other weekly groups in Chittenango, Rochester and elsewhere.  Let me know what you are interested in and I'll try to help you find it.

In honor of Greg's recent move to Georgia, I have just challenged the Georgia team to a match.  Greg, I expect you to play for us!

Actually I'm moving to Connecticut and am already a part of the New England team. They might be a bit big to challenge though. 79 member or something like that. That's what happens when you claim an entire region. I would like to suggest to anyone interested... the USA Northeast team is getting ready for the world matches. I know it could use some of you guys.

Glad to play in team matches if needed. Can't take on more than one or two games.
