Even though it's a little early, anyone have ideas on the next opening??

What about variations of the Evans Gambit?  I think it's better to work with and expand upon one opening before we move to the next.  I think we need more interaction, more questions (mr. seigler?).  So I will put out a question for responses... on the evans gambit, after 4.b4 what next?  White may be apprehensive about making a move like that because he's potentially a piece down. What are the advantages of 4.b4?

Some of the advantages of 4.b4 are to:

Deflect the bishop from c5

To gain time, development, and space by chasing the bishop around

to open up lines for attack. We will see some demonstrations of this soon.

I think to best way to learn is by doing.  Can we set up games on this site to practice with others in the group any particular opening before moving on to new openings?

Also, if using one of these openings with an anonymous opponent, why woulod they counter with their opening as expected from these examples?

I am a little confused, but after we learn about an opening, we will have a mini group "tournament" with the opening we just learned. I hope to get 1 more member so we have 10, then everybody can play as white and black at least once.
