This is the official rules and guidelines of the Ultimate Blitz Chess league. Rules are subject to change.

Sections:

The USC league consists of 2 sections. The premier section, and the rookie section. See Ratings and qualifications for more detail.

Ratings and qualifications:

The premier section consists of players 2000+ blitz. If the person has a more active bullet rating, their bullet rating will be used instead, and if your bullet rating is used, you must be 2100+ to play in the premier section. The rookie section consists of players 1999 blitz and below. If they have a more active bullet rating, their bullet rating will be used and it must be 2099 bullet or below. All players 1000 or below will count as having a 1000 rating for USC, and the same applies for bullet, if your rating is under or 1000, 1000 will be used (if you have a more active bullet rating.) Players must have at least 30 blitz or bullet games to play, and must have an account of at least 2 months. For the bullet seasons, everything is just reversed, the bullet rating of 2100+ for premier, and 2099 and below for rookie. And again, if they have a more active blitz rating, their blitz rating will be taken, 2000+ for premier and 1999 and below for rookie.

Teams and format:

For the premier section, there will be smaller teams consisting of 3 players, board 1 must be higher that board 2, board 2 must be higher than board 3. The average rating limit for the premier section is 2800. For the rookie section, there will be larger teams, teams of 5 people. The average limit is 1600, which means the sum of the rating points of the members of the team cannot surpass 8000.

Season information:

The regular season will consist of 6 weeks. A Swiss tournament system will be used to pair players every week. After the 6 weeks are over, the playoffs start which will contain 4 weeks, and half of the teams from the regular season will participate in the playoffs, the ones who scored the highest. The playoff will be played using a knockout system, meaning if you lose, you are kicked out of the tournament. The final round will determine the winner of the season.

Negotiation:

A negotiation forum will be posted for every pairing. Players have 1 week to negotiate and play their matches. Please try to avoid forfeits, it will only count as a forfeit for the person who caused it and if the match isn't played by the time the week is over.

Games and matches;

before every season, a vote will be help for the 2 time controls that will be used for the season. For the blitz seasons, during a match, you would play 2 games of one time control and 2 games of the other time control a week. For bullet, you will play 5 games for one time control, and 5 for the other time control. All games must be rated. After each match, record the result in the results thread.
