On The Lighter Side of ART....

I think my favorite is "PLEASE BE SAFE. Do not stand, sit, climb or lean on fences. If you fall, animals could eat you and that might make them sick. Thank you." In other words, you blunder, they burp.
Having seen these "wet floor" signs, "Worms may chase you" is pretty darn funny too. "Dancing with Worms" also works.
Then there's the obvious sign doing what the government does best, taking your money whether you're alive or dead: "TOUCHING WIRES CAUSES INSTANT DEATH .... $200 FINE"
Thanks for these, Martha. Keep them coming.

okay..Bob, I read some church notices in their Sunday leaflet that they give to their people at church.
They were sent to my sister and forwarded to me but i can only remember this one.
"The Self Esteem group meeting will be held on Thurs. 6pm. Please use rear entrance."
oh...and this one...
"The Weight Watchers Club will be moved to Sat.morning, 9am. There will be cake and doughnuts after."

The rear entrance isn't so bad if they keep the other doors locked during the week, but it can be taken as "go to the back of the bus." Odd that church members need a "self esteem" group; I thought that was for ye of little faith ... in one's self.
That must be Can't Weight Watchers, that is those who Can't Wait to Watch the cake disappear.

Hi Puss_N_Boots Martha,
I love the yoga cats.
I can recommend some chess books to help tame that dragon if not the Sicilian Dragon, or even recommend an inexpensive instructor. A good friend of mine who is a member of Chess.com is taking lessons via Skype from MyChessGuru.com. The instructors are Indian and the cost is between $12 and $16 an hour instead of $50 to $80 an hour.
My friend is now rated around 1500 and has improved a lot, especially how to get a good game out of the opening. I think it would help you at 1000. Just a suggestion.
I also recommend reading these ChessCafe Novice Nook columns written by Dan Heisman:
- The Two Types of Counting Problems
- The Three "Times" for Checks, Captures, and Threats
- Critical and Principal Variations
Best,
Bob
