For the kings pawn kings knight as white, I like to play evans gambit if possible, if not, then the scotch game. If I am playing as black, then I will always play the sicilian defense. If somebody plays the sicilian while I am white, I either play the closed traditional sicilian, or the smith-morra gambit. I have a very high win rate with those. I also like to play the scandinavian meses kotrc variation as black sometimes. If I ´ m playing somebody bad, I´ll do the wayward queen attack and try to either checkmate or win a rook. The catalan opening is also very fun. Sometimes I´ll also play the dutch defense for funsies.

I still cant seem to get the hang of queens gambit as white no matter what I do. Can somebody do an unrated daily game with me to help me practice?

KID, KIA, nimzo indian, kings indian, queens indian, and pawns indian are also all very fun. Oh, and Grand Prix and fried liver attack too.

But the best opening is what your comfortable with mostly. As long as your not losing a lot than openings don't really matter that much.
Not sure I agree Jack. I feel the best openings are ones that start to control the center of the board.
Well, the question is meaningless. There is no best opening. I played kp to begin with but after time discovered qp suited me better so i switched to qp. So, i think you have to play for a certain time and get a feel for what kinds of positions you feel comfortable with and play openings that in general lead to those kinds of positions.

Always try whichever opening you have the highest win rate with. Except for the grob. That one is utter crap.

If you play the grob, then either you are somehow a genius or you suck more than anybody else who plays chess. The grob is the worst opening of all time.

The Grob is fine at any level below 2100, it's a violent, trappy opening that will catch many players off-guard and quickly moves out of prep

The Italian is great because you can put in fried liver or a giuoci piano which are both great openings. You could also try the scotch or kings gambit.
What is the best opening?
That honestly depends on your style of play. Are you aggressive? Conservative? Do you prefer to make your opponent react, or do you prefer to react to them? Maybe you like counter attacks, maybe you don't?
That said, my personal preference is the Catalan opening, which involves the queens gambit, followed by fianchetto-ing your king side bishop, Nf3, and king side castle. I'm familiar with it and it sets the stage for a mid-game that I enjoy, followed by an end game that's winnable for me at least 40% of the time (I'm still a beginner, tbh). I also like it because it's a sequence of moves that doesn't get disrupted too often (meaning I can ignore my opponent to some degree until I'm ready to engage), and gives me some semblance of control/routine in my games.
It's been a good platform for me to learn, and while I've evolved to the Belgrade gambit (four knights, scotch game thingy), it's helped me learn a lot about "What happens if you move this knight here without protection" and "what happens if you push this pawn before you do this other thing"
