Also very underrated film, almost completely forgotten.
Based on the masterpiece by E.M. Remarque, one of the best anti-war novels ever.
Remarque was a WW1 veteran, so I suppose he knew exactly what he was talking about ...

I still prefer this original 1939 movie to the John Malcovitch version. Nominated for five Academy Awards, this film stars Burgess Meredith, Lon Chaney Jr. and Bob Steele. In black and white.
Excellent film and sadly quite overlooked.
George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Tobey Maguire are starring. Directed by Steven Soderbergh.

The lost film that made Sir Alec Guinness an international star.
THE LAVENDER HILL MOB 1951 Alec Guinness and Stanley Holloway. A mild mannered bank employee decides to steal a bank shipment of 212 gold bars worth about $14,000,000 in today's money. Reminiscent of Guinness' later film The Lady Killers.

MISTER HOLLAND'S OPUS
This movie must have been a hit with the Chinese.
The film stars Richard Dreyfuss in the title role of Glenn Holland, a dedicated high-school music teacher who attempts to compose his own music while struggling to balance his job and life with his wife and profoundly deaf son. - Wikipedia
I like this forum very much, honestly.
Very very underrated film, also ... critics were truly strict (and unfair by my modest opinion) with this excellent movie, very pity!
Rosamund Pike is simply superb as Marie Curie.

Excellent psychological thriller by Jim Sheridan. Very overlooked, critics didn't like at all. So unfair, because the plot is very clever, the ending is unexpected, the actings are truly good. Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts, Rachel Weisz are starring.

Sad but true. This masterpiece by Orson Welles -based on Kafka's monumental novel- with an absolutely stellar cast (Anthony Perkins, Orson Welles, Jeanne Moreau, Romy Schneider, Akim Tamiroff, Elsa Martinelli, Katina Paxinou) is among the most overlooked films ever ...

I believe it's among the best works in Delon's filmography.

The Marlon Brando film SAYONARA ranks close to his others like Streetcar Named Desire, Viva Zapata or On The Waterfront. Written by the novelist James Michener some of whose other books were made into movies, namely South Pacific and Hawaii.
Sayonara won four Academy Awards, but due to the subject matter the reruns were not often televised. The plot or story of Sayonara is set in Japan near the end of the post World War II American armed forces occupation of the country and the beginning of The Korean War in 1950. Japan made its economic comeback supplying American fighting men with tanks, trucks, guns, ammunition and equipment in the war against the Chinese and North Korean armies. Japan and Okinawa became bases close to the front where the cost of shipping war materials was much cheaper than from California and Washington state. Japan's military had occupied Korea from the turn of the century until the end of World War II.
Marlon Brando plays a pilot flying F-100 Sabre Jets against Russian built MIGs, and the actor comedian Red Buttons plays an air force sergeant, his flight line jet mechanic. Both of them fall in love with Japanese women, and both are forced by different circumstances to give them up. Love does not triumph against the clash of cultures, and James Michener makes a statement about race prejudice in the US military. The film pulls at the heart strings while Brando's awful Southern accent irritates.
