It was called automate. I believe it was removed for not being popular enough (probably because it was on its own separate page; it wasn't connected to any other variants)

Back a while ago, I remember a variant where you and your opponent had a set number of points, and you placed many pieces and tried to use up all the points. When done setting up, high rated computers played the position, does anyone remember the name of the variant and if it's still around?
