The AL Central playoff game goes into extra innings. I know it's technically not the playoffs but I'm going to call it a playoff game just the same. What an exciting start with much more excitement sure to come.

A lot of momentum shifters this game.  I wish to see the Twins pull this one out.

Well the Twins did manage to pull it off in dramatic fashion. How do you all think these playoffs will shape out? This is what I'm seeing:

ALDS:

Red Sox over Angels

Yanks over Twins

NLDS:

Cardinals over Dodgers

Phillies over Rockies

LCS:

Yanks over Red Sox

Cardinals over Phillies

WS:

Yanks over Cards

For the record though, I will be rooting for the Dodgers and Twins to make it to the World Series, above is just how I think it'll all shake out.

I'm a big Tiger's fan and it was hard to see them let it slip away but the tiebreaker was an instant classic and the last two weeks of the season was a great lesson in the need to run hard to the finish line in every race you run.  Also, it will be interesting to follow the Miguel Cabrera story.  Kinda reminds me of the good ole days when a lot of the players drank way too much.  Here the Tigers are looking for their first Divison title since 1987, and Cabrera, one of the best hitters in the league,  has a .23 BAL (blood alcohol level) on a night with a game the next day and goes 0-11 in the last three game series with the White Sox, and, is getting something like 153 million dollars over seven years.  I find this stuff very interesting.

May the Yanks lose in horrible fashion!!!!!

I do believe a closer got a loss in every one of the division series. Can't get much more exciting than lead changes in the 9th! So now that we're down to four teams, which matchups do you most want to see in the World Series?

We could have the battle of Los Angeles and the team that tries to pretend their from Los Angeles. (Also would have the Weaver brothers going against one another)

Maybe the Yanks against Torre.

The Phils trying to defend their title.

Whatever it turns out to be, I like both NL teams better than both AL teams so I'll be cheering for the NL in the series.

I like the Twinkees because they always play the White Sox tough.  Detroit, Sox, Twins, Cleveland.  It's a good rivalry.  Cleveland had a winning stretch there for awhile.  They could be OK next year.  They are not dead yet.  Twins are always competitive every year.  Have to respect Indians fans.  They are the most loyal.  White Sox fans are just rabid, and dependent on whether Jerry Reinsdorf wants to spend any money or not.  Win or lose they still have Ozzie Guillan at the helm.  Love it when he speaks English on television.

I liked the Sox when they acquired Jose Valentin from the Milwaukee Brewers.  The Sox fans booed him for the first two weeks until he started hitting home runs.  Then it was " Jose, Jose, Jose " from the stands.  He made a few errors at shortstop, but nothing like giving the new guy a chance.  White Sox fans prove year after year they are the worst behaving fans in Major League Baseball.  It is a dangerous occupation to be a 3rd base coach on an opposing team at US Cellular Field.  Talk about white trash ..... these fans are the worst.  They are not just mad dogs, clowns and idiots, they are dangerous.  They don't deserve another world series.  If White Sox fans would clean up their act the baseball world including the referees, Mayor Daley, AL outfielders, subway riders and Chicagoans in general would be very happy.  " It's 11 pm.  Do you know where you're children are? "

...White Sox go up and down,

while the Tigers go round and round,

they are on a Baseball Carosel of Time...

Detroit blew their lead at season end, so who knows what team will win in that division next year?  Detroit was short on hitting.  Still the Central does not have the toughness of the East Coast or the West Coast teams.  I like Cleveland to get off to a good start early next year.  Their fans deserve a world series.

Good start for the Phils!
