It only hangs on me if I've lost my connection and then hit submit (but never for too long). Conditional moves and live chess would be most welcome, does anyone know if there is a current wishlist forum for the chess.com app?

interesting... i thought this happens to everyone. (multiple users have also reported about this bug on this board)
are you using the ipad app? or iphone app?
got to try that...
but seams like another workaround that takes somewhat the same time as the "closing the app and reopen it" workaround...

cool. thanks for the tip... your "cancel a move" workaround works and is way faster. but unfortunately it isn't possible when you just have one move to do in your game(s).
after i make a move i like to flip through the moves again and stuff to further analyze the position...
in short: we still need a bug fix ;)
I'm playing on the iPad and never seem to get stuck when I'm at home playing over Wi-Fi but it can happen when I'm out and about on 3G and the connection is a bit dodgy. In this case I exit out of the app and go back in, it's annoying but I see it as a connectivity issue with the iPad rather than the chess.com app as I get almost the exact same issue another app called "Chess with friends".
For what it's worth, I've noted that chess.com on android (using HTC Desire) can re-connect to network without having to exit the app (without crashing) but it seems that applications on android can access the internet much less problematically than apple devices.

I've been having some with the app on the iPod Touch also. It won't let me access the video lessons.
The chess.com app I have on my iTouch (4.0.2) is AWFUL...I timed it one time and it took 30 seconds to load and 20 seconds after I hit the submit button. Also 1/3 of the time I try to open it, it crashes. They really need to work on it...
chess.com just needs a mobile site like http://m.chess.com/ or do we already have one and I'm missing it?
I agree. The app as it stands is almost too slow and buggy to use daily. I only use it when desperate!
It works fine for me on my iPad it tends to be some what slow over wifi but not terrible, however I am also using the beta IOS 4.2 which is due out next month. On the iPod 2nd gen it's very slow so bad that I just removed the app.
It got better with the last update but still seems to be stuck when you have no more online games waiting for your move. Previously would get stuck after each game... android app hardly ever hangs.
this thread may be old, but the problem is not. i have to force quit the ipad app several times a day and sometimes several times in a row. if this is not resolved soon, i have to question whether to renew my Diamond membership. I reported this at least twice and was told to reset / reinstall which i did - no change.
I suspect that their servers are overburdened and cannot keep up with the traffic and the ios app does not respond well to a non-responsive server. Additionally, is Chess.com focused on v3 to the exclusion of existing problems ?
In case you didn't get that Chess.com, I am fed up with this issue.
It's horrible. It happens all the time on my iPad and I need to download the app again everytime it happens. Even worst is the fact that the "support team" doesn't reply to the emails. Next year I'm canceling the diamond account. Any good alternatives?

hi. i love the chess.com app on my ipad and i think you guys did a great job! but the stuck after "submitted" bug is really annoying. its like a crash. one has to reopen the app in order to be able to make another move. isnt it possible to code a little bug fix for this issue quick? it would help a lot. i also would pay for this app! conditional moves in CC and live chess integration would be great in future updates :) thanks
