not all  time only last 1 month

BSAeagle60

I'm not a program writer, so I think that might have to be done manually.

harshlokhande

you can also take some help from @WhiteDrake

BSAeagle60

What would need to be done is start with the first match that started in October, copy down the roster, and then go to the second match.  You could start something like this too.

harshlokhande

but can you help me  with that bryan

BSAeagle60

Maybe but I think you misunderstand the volume of commitments I have IRL.  I would like to see some effort from you first and then I will do what I can.

BSAeagle60

Smaller?  Be confident in yourself; you are capable of many things.

harshlokhande

BSAeagle60

Start with first match or two please; I will see if I can continue.

I think these should be all the players that joined a match if we only count ongoing or finished matches that started after October 1, 00:00 UTC. The list is sorted by the number of matches a player joined. I used a script to get this list. If you can verify that there are 13 matches in progress and 11 finished matches (that started on Oct 1 or later), I think the results can be trusted.

My script did not count matches that haven't started yet, though. That was intentional, as registered players can always leave during the registration and other players may join.

Funny, chess.com apparently never expected that anybody would choose a longer nickname than 20 characters. That fourth guy from bottom has a nickname of length 22, and the '@' character seems to only highlight the first 20 non-space characters after it, so the nickname is not clickable grin.png

BSAeagle60

Wow, Jan, this is great.  Glad you had a script which made it so much easier than I would have had trying to get it done.  Thank you so much.

Interesting about the twenty characters.  I had no idea.  Can't say I've run across that before.

BSAeagle60

Harsh you shouldn't have just copied what Jan wrote without giving any credit.  The wording and phrasing was not for news... it was for here only.

WhiteDrake

Yeah, I assumed Harsh would verify the results make sense and then post some news based on this script's results. I don't need to be creditrd in the news but the text of the news looks a bit sloppy - the members shouldn't need to verify stuff.

Harsh, you came up with an idea to reward members for their activity, which is nice. I gave the materials which the reward may be based on. I'm not sure what was your original idea of figuring out the activity of the members but my script figured the activity out for you, based on your stated criteria. It seems reasonable that you take the results and base your news post on these criteria, rather than copy-paste the results directly.

Let me offer an unsolicited life asvice here, at the cost of being abnoxious: What you did is generally considered a plagiarism, because you claimed that it was your script that produced the results. If you ido this with a piece of work like your Bachelor's thesis, you'd risk being ashamed for good should that little "fraud" be revealed. A rule of thumb is, whenever you copy-paste, you should cite or give credit; make sure there is always some amount of your work behind what you give credit to yourself. (End of the abnoxious advice wink.png)

sorry guys i will edit the news right now
