Positional Play

The struggle to find an adequate defense of those queenside pawns was a burden. Maybe I missed opportunities to flatten them out or liquidate them. It seemed like if I could do that I could pivot from there and have potential against the white king or at least some flexibility and chances to get the damn rooks off the board, in which case those bad pawns become good. I stubbornly kept my heavy pieces behind them and hoped they would hold until my king could get over for support. They did not hold. As usual my game against Roods was hard fought, theoretical, and instructive....and I lost.
