Possible use of bots for 4PC

Let me just say- I'm not trying to make this a cheating forum complaint or whatnot but I must say... I don't know if it's just me but whenever I play 4PC it always seems like my opponent is using a cheating bot thing judging by all of the brilliant moves they make. Is it possible to do such a thing?? (I'm new to chess.com in general so I'm still trying to figure things out... I apologize if this forum question is dumb)

HarmlessAlien

Pretty sure it's not possible altho i haven't been active in 4pc in a while so that may have changed.

HarmlessAlien

Also moves that may seem brilliant to a beginner may be normal for other players- just like in regular chess

There are no open-source engines on 4PC, and those few that exist are private and one can pretty much guarantee that no one is using them.

What’s your current rating, @Dakkusutohanii? I know that when I started out with 4PC, I was amazed by the moves that higher rated players made. As I’ve gotten more experience, I’ve been able to start seeing those moves myself! Of course, there’s still a lot that I don’t see since I’m only rated ~1850. tongue.png

Basically impossible in FFA, highly unlikely in Teams unless they made their own engine, which is no small feat.

BeautifulGoose

it is a 2500 rating player?

Play-banned

FFA: engines are bad

Teams: There are teams bots

A chess playing Robot? That's the silliest thing I've never heard.

Of course some players are fake, who are just a robot, just a program.

They are hidden beihind a nickname and they are everywhere around us, mabe some of your friends is one of them.

Some of them has been programmed to chat and to resemble to a real player

We should unmask them.

The world is not perfect, @YouTube4PlayersChess.

Imagine a perfect 4pc website where there are no robots, everyone is real, no teamming, no cheating, no rule breaking, no swear, no spam, no this strategy to always attak the strongest, ... .

But the real 4pc is not that perfect, the world is not pink.

Or we learn to live with programs, or we unmask and we get rid of them

BeautifulGoose

I am convinced of their existence

Terminator is able to crush the former Teams world champion. So it’s not really a case of imagination.

Hello and welcome to Stockfish! Here, we stock fish. We have NOTHING to do with chess. Just a random note. Thank you!
