Beautiful and instructive game. The Pohlmann defense is something I see only once in a very long while. I wonder if 7...e6 might deserve a question mark?

An early blunder costs black dearly in this 5/2 Live game
Book moves: Blackmar-Diemer Gambit: Zeller Defense.

I haven't engine checked this, but I know the first 11 moves are precise from the White side. That setup is burned into my memory.

I enjoy facing the Ziegler because there's a psychological aspect to it. I know my opponent thinks they're wielding a silver bullet to the opening. So it's all the more satisfying when I destroy them.

I throw out the Studier attack from time to time as well. Particularly if I lose to someone in the Long Bogo, chances are they have less preparation for the other line and I'm usually right.
I think you really need to know both.
This was just a Live 2/1 game between a couple of patzers and not technically a minature. But my play was NEAR perfect and I see this variation quite a bit in live so I have a sharp line for it.
When my opponent doesn't know how to play against the BDG, and plays Nc6 instead of c6. I have several lines I know, to lead the lamb to slaughter in the Pietrowsky and I don't push d5 early in this variation and wait until they play Be7.
Please enjoy the BDG's might. (18. Qxa7# was better)
