Now BEES can retire from chess, there's nothing else to achieve Wink

I think I haven't had the Boden mate yet

Nice BDG Teichmann accepted miniature where black gets greedy and plays 7... Qxd4??

Courtney-P

IDK about you guys, but I absolutely love it when black plays  5.... Qxd4?

BDG Weinspach in 2-1 Bullet game:

-BEES-

Three games: you may recognize the first line as a sacrifice line Andrew Martin makes note of in the BDG Foxy Openings series. Anything other than 6...Be7 from Black is bad there. While Black can sack its queen for a material advantage (two pieces and a rook for the lady), the king position more than compensates White for that.

Regarding your game against thebulgarianvoid, I'm surprised whenever I see someone combining g6 and e6, it's not like if you can't feel that having so many holes around your king, can be okay.

-BEES-

It is a mistake to mix systems but if someone doesn't know the theory it can seem logical. g6 can be a move in the Caro-Kann, as well as the Scandinavian in some lines. Honestly I don't know what the actual punish is for it, I'd have to check.

The line in the Ziegler that actually gives me the hardest time is an early Bg4 instead of Nf6. That I really should look into.

SocialPanda

Which line? Can you post it? I'm not sure which Bg4 line are you talking about :-)

-BEES-

This one. No joke right after I made that post, I went and looked the line up for a bit, and then I had this game. The universe knew! I looked into Bc4 as an alternative to f3 in that line, but I preferred White's attacking chances in this Ryder-like line to the position where Black plays an early b5-b4, after Bc4.

The problem with the line's soundness would seem like e5! But I found that it wasn't so bad and actually trading Queens a pawn down left White slightly better, somehow.

I play 4.Bc4 in that position.

Ultraman81

Quick little miniature. Not at all impressive as my opponent blunderd into a mate in 1, but putting lines and thoughts in a diagram helps me orden my thoughts. So I might post it here as well. Feel free to correct my lines if somebody sees improvement.

9... Nbd7 is not common at all, the main line (by a lot of games of difference) is 9... c6.

Just a curiosity:

Ultraman81

Thx, I learned something. Smile

14. Ng6# Very cool.

Courtney-P

This game transposed into my favorite BDG variation/sideline.  A Pietrowsky setup where natural moves are bad for black.

Something very special... Bennett's Temptation!

Nice games BEES!

Hey thanks! Laughing Been away for a while. But I've continued fighting to improve and I've had some chances to try our beloved gambit against fairly strong opposition. No good miniatures just yet though.

Some Teichmann carnage. I feel a little guilty for posting this... I'm told my opponent was 89 years old. Still, it's an important position to know.

And the next game is a loss for our hero White... but I was playing the Black pieces, so I feel like posting it anyway.

-BEES-

Hey all. I know I've posted a lot of losses recently. In case any of you were worried that against the strength of opponents I'm now facing, I'm running into theoretical issues with this gambit. At this level... nope.
