Hey guys,
I am currently 1387, almost 1400. I am going to the CFCC U1200 tournament in September. Do you guys have any specific preparation that I can do to at least get to 1500 or maybe 1600 rapid by then? Since it is summer, I can devote all my time to chess, so I am willing to do anything.
Thanks!

Since you are playing u1200 scholastic at the central florida chess club autumn open, i suggest offbeat openings like the bird or english. The Reason i do is because most people u1200 dont study offbeat openings and dont know how to react. You are also provissionally rated so play some tournaments and you might gain rating.

A lot of people are going to say study openings and do puzzles. Although these do help you with your chess, I feel the best way to improve at a steady rate is just play a lot of 10/0 games. Then afterwards make sure to review EVERY game. I see that you don't have a membership so copy the PGN of your games and paste it into lichess to use their analysis. Practice will help you a lot. If it is an OTB tournament, practice playing and looking at a physical board aswell.

I have membership now, I am part of Vishwanath Anand's chess academy, he said to play longer games with incriment.

Yes I play the kings gambit with white, and the Sicilian dragon with black and sometimes the modern.
