Proposed Vote Chess Rules

Since the main club is designed to be used as a learning club I think we need to establish vote chess rules.

In Energetic Chess the emphasis is on people playing however they want.

But in here it is meant to be a more formal learning centre.

With this in mind I propose the following rules:

1. Join the game and make sure you turn on tracking for the game.

2. Take a look at the position and use the analyse function - if needed - to come up with what you think is the best way forward.

3. If you can provide a diagram to show what you mean then this is a great idea. (Let me know if you need to know how to create a diagram).

4. Read others comments and give feedback in a respectful manner. If it is a good move - or bad - then explain this. No ridiculing other people's ideas.

5. DO NOT VOTE till a move has been thoroughly discussed. Voting for moves with no discussion will incur a warning, eg:

1st time - a friendly reminder of these rules.

2nd time - an official warning will be sent to you.

3rd time - you will be removed from the game.

A vote call will be made preferably within the last 24 hours so please wait till then to vote.

What do you all think?

Hmmm, how would we enforce this though?

for not voting until discussion has occured, i think the first few moves should be an exception

Really easily. When the vote call is made and the captain votes (will need to be an admin / SA to be captain) they will see who has voted for what and when.

I would agree that move 1 should be a free open vote but going forward it is not a good idea.

I see, it's a lot of work to enforce that though

If you are too busy I am happy to take this on as it is what i do daily anyway for the other 180+ games lol

lol, ok. Should I make a rule about this?

You could just copy and paste that into a forum in the main club, lock it and pin it so that people can see it. Or I can.
