A lot of the PS2 game servers are being shut down and switched over to the PS3. You might be bumping into that; it depends on what game(s) you're trying to play online. Check on one of the PS2 boards, they could probably help you more.

As far as I know Lucasarts hasn't began work on a SWBFIII for PS3. (So, no prob)
