Hmm. There is no way of putting the king in check on the first move; I would guess that the first step is to move black's rook out of the way so the queen can move Qf7+. If the queen can get to the f7 square, checkmate should be pretty simple - Kh6 is the only move, and then Qg7 would be checkmate.

 

But! How to manipulate black... clearly has something to do with the knight, as it is the only piece close enough to harass black's pieces. Maybe Ng6, but then black may just move Rg8, or even Rf6, both of which foil the attempt at checkmate I described above.

 

Maybe Ne6, forking the queen and rook, which would elicit the response Bxe6. Then Qxe6, followed by Qg6#... but before white can make that final move for the checkmate, black gets another move. And that move may be Rg8, or some other variation that blocks Qg6#.

 

So I guess I, too, give up. I will follow this closely to see if anyone can come up with an answer.

got ya answer but how do we know last move was g5

yeah, i would do it like ´black moved g5 and now it´s your turn´, but i didn´t know how do to...
