If you want to show a nice game you played : post in game showcase thread which is pinned in forums section of the club

what do people at school chess clubs do
I'm gonna join but have no idea what to expect
And I know there's no competition there either tbh I literally adopted the previous tournament winner 10-0 in one class period
all right: in mine in like, grade 4, there were like 3 2000+ FIDE people, and a couple of club players(like me), and like 40 amatures who played trash. simple

Expect some random lesson and it's mostly a way for you to crush noobs the entire time...
ah well at least it'll look good on the college apps

Nah just d3 and learn how to play safe is better

yeah that's what i was thinking just needed some better players to share their thoughts
Knight c3 is bad anyway in the GP because it hinders d4. C3 is great for beginners and teaches you the main ideas.
i guess i might just play d3 like ninja says, i've started to like it more and more nowadays
I would say yes because it teaches you that the best squares for pieces changes with the position. Nc3 isn't necessarily the most accurate move there anyway, it's often a lot more useful on g3 or e3
What sort of rating (ish) should one be to start learning/playing the Trompowsky? I have had a look at it and it seems fun, but I was wondering what you people thought
