I would say yes because it teaches you that the best squares for pieces changes with the position. Nc3 isn't necessarily the most accurate move there anyway, it's often a lot more useful on g3 or e3

What sort of rating (ish) should one be to start learning/playing the Trompowsky? I have had a look at it and it seems fun, but I was wondering what you people thought

I have Silman's endgame book and it's really good

Ok thanks! Also what is the best way to use an endgame book, should you try solve it in your head or should you set it out on a board and try solve it like that, or is there another way that is better?

And I am assuming it is this book:

Silmans Complete Endgame Course by Jeremy Silman

the chapters are based on ratings

so chapter 1 is like 400, chapter 2 800 etc so yes very suitable

and the book has diagrams so you don't really need a board but if you still want to use one I guess it could work
