Also, I do not see much sense in a separate bullet leaderboards (this also applies to team). The bullet lost a lot of popularity after the separation of the hyperbullet, the leaderboard is occupied by the players who was rate on the hyperbullet and who support their rating in ½.
It seems to me reasonable to make such a separation of controls:
bullet/hyper bullet
blitz/bullet (lower: 1|1, 0.5|2, 0.1|3, upper: 1|5, 2|4, 3|3, 4|2, 5|1)
rapid/blitz

1° I agree 100%, all fast games tend to be very similar in mind between Solo and FFA; in FFA people do not cooperate more than in Solo, and the spirit is totally different from normally paced games like 1/15. It's a matter of fact.

2° it's also 100% true that high rated Solo games tend to become seldom.

 

The solution could be, like in the "old good times" (2 years ago), that when ALL FOUR players are beyond 1850 (it was then 1550...), or we could say 2000 symbolically, then it's solo automatically, WTA.

or an alternative approach is to make FFA rapid 3 x -1 -2-x, and FFA blitz/bullet 3 x -x -3

@arseny_vasily I guess some ppl will complain about the sudden transition at 1850, so mine is more smoother (3/1/-1/-3 to 3/0/-1/-2 to 3/-1/-1/-1)?

I dunno what's the proper function. Maybe x=0 at around 1850 (3/0/-1/-2), and 3/-.5/-1/-1.5 at around 2050?

And yes, should be sth like #77 in that thread.

UPD: maybe X=-tanh((avgRating-1950)/230)?

I also think there will be a problem with always a plus for 2 place, players will be dense in one rating zone, as +1-> 0 has inflation, but 0-> -1 has not

updated my previous thread with a formula.

X=-tanh((avgRating-1950)/230),

so avgRating->X: 1700->0.80, 1800->0.57, 1900->0.21, 2000-> -0.21, 2100-> -0.57, 2200-> -0.80?

 (for rating change 3/x/-1/-2-x)

looks good for today's situation, 1850 is the old border of the transition from solo to team (without always + for 2), now this border is 2150 (-0.7 is convincing argument not to play in frankly team). but the ratings will fall, so can leave the correction for the future

Yes, clearly 1850 wouldn't be a good threshold, I would suggest 2000 symbolically.
