Guys, I created by own opening! Much like Witty is the destroyer of the Caro-Kann, I am striving to be the destroyer of the Sicilian! I present: The Adkins Attack!

It's kind of a mix of the Smith Morra and the Grand Prix, and has many opening traps if black is not careful, examples being:

Nice! I’m prob gonna use that opening now

cool opening! after 3. dxc3 maybe we can go full danish gambit style (letting c3 pawn capture b2 as well? (adkins attack: open variation) let's see how new traps could be identified in that line 👀

i rate 7/10

ok I checked it out. First, after Nxc3, Stockfish evaluates the position as (so basically draw with black's advantage). Then, Nc6 is played in 47% games, e6 in 22% and d6 in 12%.

It does not matter if black plays Nc6 or not, they usually play it a few moves in the future after d6 or e6, so you can play f4 anyways

Thanks for the support! The traps in this opening are crazy, look at another trap I just pulled off in a game:

How can you ask Chess.com to make your opening a book move?

Avatar of mental-central-dialog

Your second example is really cool. Reminded me of an example from the Jeremy Silman book, How to play chess, lessons from an International Master. It's the example he gives for learning the greek gift sacrifice.

I'm a Sicilian hater so I might just try this out. I also need to learn the Smith-Morra, so I will watch Danya's videos about it. this is a cool line tho 10/10

Thank you for your kind commentary! And yes, this opening has given me much success against the Sicilian, and if you try it you will probably catch your opponents off guard!

you don't. Basically, you have to play FIDE games with it and if you play more than 25 FIDE games with this start, it might be named after you

Avatar of AdkinsAttackInventor

Oh, I see, well I guess I would have to play FIDE games then. What is your opinion on the opening, Ed?

I find it very good btw, and objectively better than what the alien gambit is for the caro kann, because the alien gambit relies on black blundering at some point to win the game, and if black does not blunder then you're down a knight, whereas yours if blakc does not blunder is a draw.

Glad to hear you like it! I've gotten positive reviews across the board so far, kind of crazy that I may have created a good and viable opening in the Sicilian!

10/10. I highly suggest following through with playing OTB. This opening preparation is amazing.

I will only say that most people my level USCF play the Caro-Kann, but maybe if you're closer to you're online rating, you could face people with preparation for the Nadjorf.
