As I have seen in some games players accuse others of teaming and it quite clearly isn't - it's just the imbalance of the game arises when one player becomes attacked it is easier for other players to attack that same player, so it feels like players are teaming up on you when really they aren't.

I remember when i lost 40 points for being 3rd tied with last, simply because it was a 3vs1.
At least i took a bishop and tied for last (they kept attacking me i would lose lots of pieces and i preferred to dont give so much points.)
I tied for last and lost around 40 points.
Imagine if i would not tie. I believe i would lose 75 points.
I We need compensation, specially for chaturaji.
Other games, although cheating can happen, are 2-player and is defined by win/lose, not 1/2/3/4
Rating changes can be bigger as a result, and i totally agree with this.

As it is if you report a game and the burden of proof is sufficient, i.e. they have a boatload of games together, then an admin can refund your lost points. As an example I lost some points to a three vs one, reported them and hest1805 refunded my -8 lost points. So what changes are you asking to be made? An easier points refund system?
I agree that teaming is problematic and that being compensated for lost rating is a little difficult ... anyway just thought I should share my experience with this,

I think we need to sort out how ratings are conducted in general and design it so that it takes new provisional ratings into consideration. Like I'm sure there's a way to put into the equation some variable (or to modify the equation in some way) so that new and alt accounts can be considered so someone won't arbitrarily lose ratings for being put up against a blatent alt/cheater and also so it can deter the creation of alts. I'll come up with something at some point.

I was just wondering if there is a chance that rating compensation could be incorporated into variant games if someone's opponent is found to be guilty of cheating, pre-arranged teaming, etc. As mainly a chaturaji player, something that I have to worry about constantly is the pre-arranged teaming. Since the people who are usually guilty of this are alt accounts rated the provisional 1500 rating, a person at my level would lose close to 80 points if they fell victim to such a game. Regaining the lost rating would probably take a dozen or two games at best, which makes it hard to make forward progress since pre-arranged teaming appears to be increasingly common. If there was rating compensation it would be a great deal easier and fairer to those who play with integrity.
Sorry if I'm coming off as entitled, I just thought it might be a good idea is all.
