Rating inflation.

I’ve noticed recently a lot of good players have gone down rating. Also I find it harder now to maintain 2200 than a year ago.. Chatuahji must be experiencing rating inflation!

(Just my thoughts: If players' ratings go down, is it "deflation"? Or are you talking about more players getting high ratings which make some players' ratings less stable, which is actually "inflation"?)

I think he means that players are getting better, so it's harder to advance in rating. (so the "inflation" is the value of rating going up)

think of rating as an object with PH-7. Higher rated players drag the PH down (acidify it) and lower rated push the PH up (dilute the acid). Deflation is too many low-rated players and inflation is too many high-rated players.
