Petroff Defense: Cochrane Gambit by W. John Lutes, ISBN 0945470-44-4 is THE book!  I won a nice correspondence game(!) with the Cochrane Gambit.

Not sure why here really because more of an anti-gambiteer . Guess useful to know the weapons of the enemy. Sakaev has a recent rep book on Petroff. In chapter on this gambit, is conclusion is white doesn't have enough for peice. It is mostly based on finding improvements to a Short v Shirov game.
