Riddles! Theme: Murder

Hi, can you solve the riddle? Don't cheat! You can only read it to yourself 2 times!

The riddle: There was a horrible power outage, and the dad of a family was found dead murdered by a knife!! The 3 suspects:

Suspect 1: The 21-year-old daughter: "I was laying down on my bed trying to sleep, but I heard something downstairs while I was trying to sleep, but I decided to stay in the bed."

Suspect 2: The 21-year-old twin brother: "I was hungry, so I took out a banana and some milk, you know just trying to eat a heathy meal.

Suspect 3: The mother: "I was going to go outside and water the plants, but then I realized that it was raining, so I decided to read a book about murder instead, I miss him very much ."

The detectives immediately knew who it was.

The sister. The power outage wasn't at night, so why would you be in bed?

Maybe she is taking a nap, or what if it was at night?

Maybe she is sleeping early because she usually watches TV before bed.

Why would the mother be out at night watering plants?

I would say the twin brother. Milk would be spoiled during a power outage. Lights are also out. Why would he have a meal outside if it was raining so he must be indoor. But no lights
