This game is not much for tactics but is instructive in its positional play. Annotations by George Marco as they appear in the tournament book Karlsbad 1907 which was translated from German to English by Robert Sherwood. Annotations in [brackets] and ending in -RHS are Sherwood's. For his translation (published in 2007), Sherwood used Rybka to analyze each of the 210 games. This game was one of Rubinstein's two losses in the tournament. His other loss came from Rudolph Spielmann in Round 13. In the end, Rubinstein emerged victorious, 1/2 point ahead of Maroczy. Nimzovich tied for 4th. Spielmann came in 10th place, ahead of 7 others.
