Scottish League

I need to know how many members would support a team entered to the upcoming Scottish League; members can post their support here, please.

What's the format? I'm trying to keep the number of games down a bit so I'd prefer to avoid opening up 10 simultaneous games.

you would only play one opponent twice (black and white) in each match. There will be fair time between matches as we wait on all matches being finished across the country.

I might be interested.  The problem I have is this: in one of my current games my oppoonent took vacation time.  He wasn't away for long but in theory he could have taken two months off.  But if I went away for four days I would forfeit the game because I'm not a premium member.  Now I don't have a problem with premium membership as such if people want to buy extra services.  But I do have a problem with a competition in which the actual rules of play give preferential treatment in exchange for cash.  And obviously it would be worse if I felt it was not just me losing a game but letting the team down.

I don't think it is an open issue Alan because the holiday time thing is dicrtated by chess.com. It's not something we could change ourselves AFAIK.

Sounds good to me. After losing in 12 moves in a Chess960 tournament (smothered mate, didn't see it coming at all ) I figured I had to keep the volume low and put a bit more time into each move.

it does not look like the scottish league will be starting anytime soon...

Maybe now would be a good time to revive this with more active groups/teams and the UK County Championship really taking off. Lanarkshire have about 50 members. The Lothians is a new group/team but already has 10 members. Dundee and Aberdeen have about 20-30 each.
