Scum players resigning

Basically in the last game I just played, I was en route to winning the game, when a player resigned JUST to prevent me from picking up a dead king, hereby denying me the first place, such player is scum, and there should be a rule that awards 40 points instead of 20 points if they resign with a dead king still out in play

Said player is Lan_Pirot

So your opponent is at fault because he preferred to win the game instead of coming second? What would you do in his place?

I agree with this rule adjustment @moobfacell. I've had it happen myself, not fun. It has also been brought up several other times.

I may not understand this situation but it sure sounds to me like last man standing debate... If the point is to get max points and come in as high as possible then you don't want people to do the best in points? its the twist in this game (points) that makes it interesting... I don't think you can have it both ways??

It totally makes sense to resign if you are leading the points and they attempting to take yours.

What I wish could happen involves the ability to, because we have records of each game, to contact the opponent you were dualing it out with and express a gg or even request friend to Live it as well stay in contact with instead of having to click on their avatar while you have very little time to focus all THATS SPREAD ALL OVER THE BOARD  chewing more your time just to make sure you’re able to contact after it’s a finished game.

lol I can create a thread on that I guess.

Skeftmilos and ThePEPSIChallenge are you guy illterate? u clearly didn't read my paragraph like the mod did

THE GUY PURPOSELY resigned to come 4th and prevent me from getting the dead king (20 points) on another side

Avatar of ThePEPSIChallenge

You’re calling him scum because he obviously wanted first instead you to get it, so that is what chess is about, the win, and he resigning kept you TO win and he TO WIN, not you. no?

Avatar of Skeftomilos

@moobfaceII so the guy who resigned came 4th. You didn't said this before, so questioning the literacy of people for not reading what you haven't written is not only ridiculous, but also says something about your manners.

On topic, your opponent had the option to either resign and come 4th, or play-on and come most probably 4th. So your opponent is at fault because he preferred to search for a new game, instead of prolonging a certain defeat? What would you do in his place?

4th? what?
