What's really sad is that if I had Black's position, I wouldn't have seen how to finish off White after that blunder.
I think Bf1 came about due to his frame of mind. If he had been playing a stronger player, no doubt he would have been on the alert and played one of the alternate moves he mentioned in the video. I think Kotov discusses this under "Dizzyness due to Success" in his book Think Like a Grandmaster.
