My internet went out and due to that it made me forfeit.

Something weird happened in my game with Rishav. He disconnected and lost because of game abandonment. However, he was better in the endgame and was likely to win the game. Because of this, I don't feel that I deserve the full point. I'm not sure what the game result should be marked as. I would like to continue playing the game from the position we were at so we can get a fair result, if that's possible.

My feeling is that Rishav and Andrew should resume the game at the point of disconnection.  If you can reconstruct the clocks approximately, then make it G/XX+5 and resume the game (it doesn't have to be tonight, but the next few days are fine).   Sound good?

Rishav/Andrew - You'll have to see if you can set up the position... not sure if that can be done.  If that can't be done, then perhaps a draw is a reasonable result?  Let me know...

i'm fairly certain thats possible on this website, so i'm okay with that. when can you continue, rishav?

Avatar of rishavb2007

right now sounds fine. idk how to resume the game with the same position though. if you can do that we can finish the game tonight

Avatar of arivedal

okay. i'll try to set up the challenge with the same position, 50 minutes on your clock and 25 on mine. if i cant get the clock like that, i think 30 minutes each will be more than enough to finish the game

Avatar of rishavb2007

okay sounds good!

Avatar of arivedal

alright this website doesn't have that as a feature, but lichess does. can we finish the game on lichess?

Avatar of rishavb2007

Messed up my endgame due to my time pressure again.  That clock does me in a lot of times, as it starts to run low and sometimes I go into panic mode!happy.png

Here are Round 1 results and crosstable.  Folks can still join the event with a 1/2-Pt BYE; let me know ASAP.  I will do Final Pairings for Round 2 at 6 pm Thursday night.  However, I will issue "Tentative Pairings" in the next post.
